In 1928 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA, Richard Drew invented the transparent tape. Tape according to its function can be divided into: high-temperature tape, double-sided tape, insulation tape, special tape, pressure-sensitive tape, die-cutting tape, different functions suitable for different industry needs. A layer of adhesive was applied to the surface of the tape to allow the tape to stick to the object. The earliest adhesives came from animals and plants. In the 19th century, rubber was the main ingredient of adhesives; modern polymers are widely used.
